Ross Potter’s first solo exhibition at The Moores Building Contemporary Art Gallery in Fremantle. Potter worked with the students in the Adolescent Programme at The Beehive Montessori School as an Artist in Residence for 2011, the student’s works were also exhibited.
The Free Antiques Campaign highlights a number of elements of the wonderful heritage of the Fremantle area—some of it yet to capture the broader imagination—old antiques awaiting their day. Potter felt compelled to record them in the hope of at least capturing some of the ‘soul’ of these Fremantle icons. He chose to draw freehand to capture the slowly evolving, almost mobile, character of his subjects as they slowly decay, or are altered by those who inhabit them.
